Meetup - Mar 2026

Our twenty-first community meetup marked the first session of 2026, as we kicked off the year in collaboration with Sunway CSC at Sunway University. The event brought together cybersecurity professionals, students, and enthusiasts for an evening of practical insights and engaging discussions.

The session featured two speakers covering distinct yet equally relevant areas of cybersecurity. Tasneem Johan led the evening with “Phishing Attacks and Defense Strategies,” where he provided a comprehensive look into modern phishing techniques and the defensive measures organizations can adopt to mitigate such threats. His talk offered both technical depth and practical takeaways for real-world application.

This was followed by Lee Zhen Yong, who presented “Geo-OSINT Techniques in Malaysia,” showcasing how open-source intelligence methods can be applied within a local context. His session highlighted investigative approaches and tools used to gather and analyze geospatial data effectively.

As with our previous meetups, the session also included time for networking and informal discussions, along with refreshments for attendees, creating a welcoming space for learning and community building.

Thank you to Sunway CSC for their support, and to everyone who joined us in making the first meetup of the year a meaningful start to 2026. We look forward to seeing you at the next session.
