Sherpasec X Kaspersky Cyber Fest 2025
Our twentieth and final community meetup of 2025 closed out the year with a bang, as we partnered with Kaspersky for a special edition, SherpaSec x Kaspersky Cyber Fest, hosted at Asia Pacific University.
The evening featured the Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS), a tabletop-style incident response exercise reimagined through gamification. Led by Trishia Octaviano from Kaspersky, participants were challenged to make real-time decisions in a simulated cybersecurity crisis, a unique hands-on experience that brought theory to life.
Earlier in the day, two of our very own GCC alumni, Jeremy Phang and Shunsuke, returned to host technical workshops on “AEAD Exploits” and “Heap Exploitation”, diving deep into exploitation techniques and system-level vulnerabilities. Their sessions were both practical and engaging, offering valuable insight to students and professionals looking to expand their offensive security skillsets.
The evening also featured a dinner session (exclusive to KIPS participants), a dedicated photo booth to capture memories, and plenty of chances to network with peers and industry practitioners.
A massive thank you to Trishia and the team at Kaspersky for making this event possible, and to all of our speakers and attendees for contributing to such a memorable close to the year.
That’s a wrap for 2025, thank you for being part of the journey. We’ll see you in 2026. Until then, stay curious and keep building.
